Module 1: The Foundation of Tai Chi for Balance

Module 1 establishes the Foundation of Tai Chi for Balance. After a brief Course Introduction, you'll discover Standing Neutral Posture, the 70% Rule, the Kwa Squat, and 2 key biomechanical concepts of stability.

Module 2: Vertical Circles + Kwa Squat

Module 2 introduces the first move in the Tai Chi for Balance Exercise System: Vertical Circles + Kwa Squat.

Module 3: Vertical Circles + Weight Shift

Module 3 introduces a fundamental lower body movement component of Tai Chi, the Weight Shift. You'll explore the second move in the Tai Chi for Balance Exercise System: Vertical Circles + Weight Shift.

Module 4: Vertical Circles + Weight Shift + Hip Turn

Module 4 is essential and substantive, introducing the Fundamentals of Rotation. You'll discover proper knee alignments, the Kwa Fold, and the 4 Points, all supporting joint health in Rotation. You'll explore the third move in the Tai Chi for Balance Exercise System: Vertical Circles + Weight Shift + Hip Turn.

Module 5: Horizontal Circles + Kwa Squat

Module 5 introduces the Horizontal Plane of Movement. You'll explore the fourth move in the Tai Chi for Balance Exercise System: Horizontal Circles + Kwa Squat.

Module 7 introduces the Coronal Plane of Movement. You'll explore the sixth move in the Tai Chi for Balance Exercise System: Coronal Circles + Kwa Squat.

Module 8: Coronal Circles + Weight Shift + Hip Turn

Module 8 introduces the seventh and final move in the Tai Chi for Balance Exercise System: Coronal Circles + Weight Shift + Hip Turn. With an in-depth guided practice video, you'll enjoy a full set of Tai Chi Circling Hands.

Module 9: Tai Chi Walking Exercises and Course Wrap Up

Chris Cinnamon, JD, MS, C-EP

Certified Exercise Physiologist, Head Instructor

Chris Cinnamon is a Certified Exercise Physiologist, Wellness Expert, and Head Instructor at Chicago Tai Chi. He developed and leads Chicago Tai Chi’s popular Tai Chi for Balance and Tai Chi for Knee Health programs.

Chris holds a law degree from the University of Michigan, a Master in Science in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is certified as an Exercise Physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine. A US Navy veteran, Chris served for six years, flying carrier-based F-14 Tomcat fighter jets.

Chris lives and teaches in downtown Chicago, leads workshops throughout the U.S., and is passionate about sharing the powerful benefits of Tai Chi, Qigong, and Meditation.
