Healthy Aging and Tai Chi; A Conversation with Christine Rosenbloom, PhD, healthy aging expert

Greetings!

You and I share a keen interest in living a healthy lifestyle.

That’s why I want to make a quick introduction to an expert on healthy living, Dr. Christine Rosenbloom.

Meet Chris Rosenbloom, PhD, RDN, FAND, author of Food and Fitness after 50

After 30 years as a professor of nutrition at Georgia State University, Chris is now an author and nutrition consultant. Her book, Food and Fitness After 50 (2017) is an excellent resource for those of us seeking expert advice on healthy aging. Check it out on Amazon here.

Chris also publishes a weekly blog “Fit to Eat.” Her articles are packed with good information on nutrition, weight management, and healthy aging. Plus, her writing is backed by science not fads or hype. That’s important!

Check out Chris’s blog here.

How I met Chris Rosenbloom

Chris and I met in March at the American College of Sports Medicine’s 2019 Health and Fitness Summit. She gave a dynamite talk provocatively titled “Is 70 the New 40?” It was an excellent update on current research on diet and exercise as key components of extending your “Health Span.”

Chris and I met after her talk. We are both passionate about promoting healthy aging and hit it off.

It turned out that Chris had heard a little about Tai Chi and wanted to learn a lot more. As a scientist, she was particularly interested in the research demonstrating the health benefits of Tai Chi.

We exchanged cards and committed to catch up after the conference.

Our Conversation: An Interview for Dr. Rosenbloom’s blog

Dr. Rosenbloom and I scheduled our catch up call for this week. She preceded the call with a detailed set of questions about Tai Chi.

“How professional and organized!” I thought.

Our call quickly became a phone interview. It turns out she’s working on an article on Tai Chi as an exercise for healthy aging. I served as her Tai Chi expert, a role I filled with enthusiasm!

What a delightful conversation! Chris is clearly an expert on healthy aging. As I explained what Tai Chi is and how it works in the body, she rapidly appreciated how Tai Chi can be a powerful addition to a healthy aging lifestyle.

I look forward to her article and will share it with you.

In the meantime, I encourage you to check out Chris’s free articles like this one:
